Meet the team

Monika

As a visual artist, Monika has been fascinated with tattoos as long as she can remember. After graduating with a BFA in painting she continued her career painting fantasy lands full of surreal animals and unique pet portraits, designing city murals, album covers, t-shirts and logos (Goodbye Rhonda’s logo being one of her most recent). Monika has always dreamed of using her talents to crossover as a tattoo artist and she has recently started an apprenticeship, giving her an incredible opportunity to provide her insights in both cover up and laser removal to future clients.

Loving all of your tattoos and the skin you are in is priceless, and that is what Monika has set out to do in the tattoo community. When you come in be sure to check out one of her favorite tattoos that will certainly never see the light of the laser- a portrait of her recently passed beloved Australian Cattle Dog, Olabelle. Some other creative avenues Monika dabbles in are making clothing and jewelry. She also loves to travel to attend music festivals, hike national parks and visit beaches.

Moe

Moe’s journey to tattoo removal is the same as the rest of us, a love for tattoos and self expression, coupled with a regret for some early choices in design. As an accredited removal tech, she looks forward to helping clients realize the possibilities for rethinking their body art.

Moe is an avid tattoo fan herself and has collected them from all over during her time living on the East Coast, or during her tenure as a band tour manager. Moe also has a love of dogs that stretches beyond her own (Stella, Ernesto and Maxine) to fostering and walking them in her spare time. Please come prepared with pictures of your own pup to show when you come in! As a lifelong fan of punk music, she enjoys collecting records and relevant memorabilia that documents the history of the music, which goes hand in hand with her extensive horror movie collection.

Kati

Kati’s life of service has been a winding journey that brings her the opportunity to help people in a new capacity as a tattoo removal technician. Starting with internships at The Prison Society and ACLU, to graduating with honors from the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work, she has woven participation in the punk and tattoo subcultures into activism and volunteer work. With an appreciation for tattoos that started with her first at age 21 and continues to this day, Kati is excited to become a part of the tattoo community in a capacity that fits best- helping people. From her years of experience in social work, Kati brings empathy and understanding to her clients and their needs for tattoo removal.

For the past decade she has helped to rescue and foster abandoned animals, with the loving help of her cat Gus and her dog Dunkin. In her free time, Kati can be found on her motorcycle or snuggled up at home knitting, depending on the always unpredictable Pittsburgh weather.
